The November edition of our Freitagsfrühstück series is a follow-up to our recent WORKAROUND Conference in the format of a Berlin Freelancer Meetup.

During our three-day WORKAROUND symposium we discussed various models of self-employment and new notions of work, beyond the creative freelancer cliché. We explored old and new territories of unions and cooperations as tools for achieving common goals, as well as alternative strategies and structures of self-organisation. When the need for a regular Freelancer Meeting was identified by participants during WORKAROUND, our November Freitagsfrühstück seemed the perfect opportunity to build on the momentum and the community that manifested during the conference.

Programme: Breakfast buffet begins at 9am, and the Meeting will happen from 10am—11:30am, facilitated by WORKAROUND co-curator Ela Kagel. Everyone is welcome to participate or just listen in, and there will be time afterwards for further discussions, questions and socialising. We encourage you to join us with specific topics that are of interest to you and you would like to explore in small working groups. Everyone can host their own groups by proposing a theme which is related to freelance culture in Berlin.

Registration: Please reserve your place by emailing rsvp@supermarkt-berlin.net with the subject ‘Freitagsfrühstück’, so we know how much buffet to prepare.

Cost: €5 per person for buffet, including pastries, waffles, muesli, yoghurt, fruits, cheeses, cold meats, breads, dips and more. Drinks are available for purchase from our café. Everybody is welcome to attend, also those who do not wish to purchase the buffet.

Language: Discussions will be held in a mixture of English and German, depending on the preferred language of those in attendance. Comments and questions are welcome multi-lingual, and we will happily assist with translations throughout the event.

Location: Supermarkt – Brunnenstrasse 64, 13355 Berlin. Supermarkt is an accessible venue.
